I saw it saturday night and was pleasantly suprised that the new bond wasn't so bad. The story was predictable but aren't all Bond movies. So anyone else see it?

Pretty good movie, but a tad too fucking long. Craig's probably my favorite Bond though.

I want to see it very badly.. My extremely gay theatre is only playing Happy Feet though so I doubt I will get it locally. I may have to make a trip to see this one though as I want to see it in theatre badly.

The was the most absurd thing in the world. No one is that built.

But yeah, I liked the movie a lot. Returned to Bond's roots of not really being in complete control, and no over the top stupid gadgets. Thoroughly enjoyable movie experience.

I thought it was great. It was nice to see that there was no ice melting death ray (or whatever the fuck was going on in Die Another Day), or any other ridiculous thing of the sort. Less over the top gadgets made it a better movie, and Daniel Craig was great as Bond.

Craig was cool, Le Chiffre was good, movie was great, Eva Green is gorgeous.
It was certainly closer to the book than some other films and that was nice, though I did feel they added a bit much to it and made some changes that sacrificed the story's...integrity? a little.
Overall, I was pleased.

I gave it a 3.5 to 4 out of 5. If it was shorter and had a more clear storyline, It''d be great. It still kicked ass though.

Amazing, but I'm going to agree with tizzle that it was a tad too long. They could have like, not killed off the chick, because she was nice. She looked better without the makeup, at least in my opinion.

It was alright. I did like the no-over-the-top gadgets, but as people have said, it was a little long for a story without much... substance.
And Daniel Craig is hot. So was the girl, but who cares.

I didn't really like it. I thought Craig was a lifeless, uncharismatic Bond (I wanted Clive Owen) and Le Chiffre was a silly villain. Plus the storyline made no sense in such a long movie.
The action sequences were great but I just didn't like the changes that Craig made to Bond's character. He abandoned a lot of the traditional sayings and mannerisms. And it's too bad John Cleese wasn't in it. He's so much better as Q than Judi Dench's portrayal of M.

Daniel Craig is defiantly my favorite Bond. It is the first time in a long time that I have wanted to go to the theater to see a movie a second time. I feel like I NEED to go see it a second time. I don't feel like I'd be wasting money seeing it a second time either. Not only is he a fantastic actor but my god is he hot.

Oh, the general consensus is that Dalton is the worst Bond next to Lanzeby, so I just assumed you didn't like him.

I thought Dalton was good for his movies, tough and sorta dark.
The problem with Roger Moore (who I love, especially in The Saint) is that his movies were all pretty bad save for L&LD, which was a shame. Connery really had the best films. I've got nothing against Lazenby, he only did one film and it was fine.
Personally, I think the best Bond was Brosnan. It took me a while to get over Connery's great role in all his great movies, but I really think Brosnan embodied everything Bond really is: tough, good-looking, cold and precise with just the right amount of wit. He got the job done without question but also had that little vengeful edge. I've always envisioned Brosnan as Bond when I've read the novels.

I very much agree with you, and I would tie Connery and Brosnan. The Bond movies just need better scripts.
I wouldn't even hate it if they remade a bunch of the crappy Bond movies (AKA a true adaptation of Moonraker without the laser crap).

I wasn't a huge fan of the intro. I like the song more than most people seem to, but all the hearts, clubs, spades, and diamonds were getting pretty old for me, especially when they were the shots out of the guns. I'm glad that they're trying to be creative with it though, variety is always nice.

I like Brosnan almost as much as Connery, but he was a little bit too much of a sissy. He was the suavest Bond, Connery was the most Badass. He knows when you gotta slap a bitch, etc. Craig was sort of a happy medium between the two, but played Bond a little too human. Then again, this is how he started out, so he may be desensitized as time goes by.
