The Batman
Well. I got back from seeing the Fountain just now. Let me just say, you are either going to love or hate this movie. I haven't heard of any in-betweens.

I'm really distraught though, because just as the movie was nearing to a close the screen went blank, but audio was still heard. It came back on in enough time to see the last minute, and becuase of this I am extremely unhappy because I want to see the rest. I mean, it blanked out at the climax! Whatever, I still saw most of it, because I checked out what went on at the end and most of it I saw except for what happened at the end of the 2500 segment, so I don't mind saying I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.

Anyone else see it?
Tiz
It's sitting on my computer as we speak, will probably watch it before the weekend is over. Can't wait.

How good is the quality of it? I'd really like to have a good quality version...

It was probably the weirdest fucking movie I've ever seen.

And the camerawork was lame.

I just sampled it and the quality isn't bad. I can't verify how much is being cropped [that's a concern I always have with cams, which it is one] but the sound is surprisingly decent for a cam and the video quality isn't too bad. It's about as good as you can get with a cam, whether or not that's a good thing would be up to you.

The issues I noticed: You can slightly hear some of the audience near the beginning, before the movie actually starts, but after ten minutes it didn't seem to be a problem anymore, and there are subs near the beginning that you can read but you can tell a very small bit of it is cut off. That's what I got off the first ten minutes of the movie.

There's a sample on the torrent I downloaded, I got it off leecherslair.com after being redirected there from Torrentspy. You have to register but it's pretty fast registration. If you want to see the quality I suggest looking at that. [You could also maybe judge if a significant portion of the image is being cropped out.]

I really want to see this in theaters though, I'd hate to wait even longer but some of the images in those ten minutes are so awesome sad.gif

I will say the cinematography and sheer artistic imagery in this movie is insane. Besides the camera work that seems to need an insane close up every five seconds, this whole movie is just stunning to "see."

My problem was the plot was very slow and muddled, and relied too much on how trippy everything was so it was unfocused. I would've liked to have seen some more plot development and a clearer resolution.

lol downloading now, hope I like it.

Just got an offer from a friend to see this in theaters, thank god. Will post an opinion when I get back probably.
Paul MC Hurt Meh
It looked kind of boring from the previews I've seen, so yeah, give us an update.
V3NOM99

i went with 8 people and only myself and another person liked it. everyone else was pissed because i picked the movie.

I love movies like that. I'm definitely going to try to see this.

I have to say that I absolutely adored it, definitely one of my favorite movies of the year. The 96 minutes felt more like 20 and I didn't really want it to stop--I had one of those moments after the credits started rolling where I just sat there for a minute--but my friend said it felt like a 3 hour movie because of how little actually occurs within the plot, and he's right, in terms of narrative it hardly has one despite spanning a thousand years. No one's going to argue about the visuals so there's no point in going over that.

A lot of critics and some people I know said they were confused with the plot, and unless they mean specifically the ending there's really nothing to get confused about in terms of narrative. Even though the ending was unclear it's something I ultimately embrace, and I think the comparisons to the end sequence of 2001 are fair in many ways but unfair to both movies in others. You could, however, take the 'future' segments in a couple ways, and I think it can work on literal and metaphorical levels, moreso the latter.

For what little story there is, it's still a beautiful love story and I was completely hooked, and I like Hugh Jackman more and more every time I see him. If you watched the trailer and thought the "my conquistador, always conquering" line was painful, I wouldn't be worried because it's the only one that made me slightly cringe, and it didn't sound as bad in the context. I don't think it needed much of a narrative because it won me over with the development of Tommy's character and, of course, the visuals. I was given exactly what I needed in terms of narrative and everything else took off from that for me. I really can't wait to watch it again.

I thought it was beautiful, I agree with what Tiz said. I wish I had seen it in theaters, but lol, I'm cheap like that.
