This movie looked kind of dumb to me, but I love the D, so I saw it.

It was hillarious (though dumb, but not as dumb as I thought it would be). I didn't get bored at any point in the movie, but I was kinda upset that The Government Totally Sucks song wasn't in the movie. Soundtrack is excellent too.

There were alot of cameos (Meatloaf, Dio, Ben Stiller, Tim Robbins, Dave Grohl, apparently Colin Hanks is in it, but I didn't see him) and they were all great, especially Tim Robbins.

"Come over here so I can stab you!"
"...what?"

"...no!"

It reminded me of Wayne's World a lot. It's probably not a movie I'll revisit a whole lot but was certainly better than I expected.

Doesn't come out until the 11th of next month here sad.gif

I thought it was set for an October release in the states?

Saw it earlier and loved it.

I did not mean... to blow your mind! ....

It's probably a fair warning to say that if you go into this liking their music and [as far as I've heard] not having seen their show, you will be pleased enough. I've heard the show is basically the movie but better, but anyone who sees both can confirm with such giddiness whether or not this is true.

I own epps of the show, so I guess I will be a good judge.

The soundtrack blows, it's like Tenacious D's The Wall. All of the songs are like a minute long and the only one that's funny is Kickapoo.

EDIT - I'd like to say that I haven't seen the movie, so it probably works/is better in the context of the film.

I thought the soundtrack was kind of lame originally, then it grew on me. It does fit in with the context of the movie (Government Totally Sucks isn't in the movie, however, nor is the Metal song). The rest is. The Final Showdown is now my favorite song on the album. It's not as good as the s/t, but I still really like it after listening to it enough.

I have only seen the one TD episode with the Jesus Ranch, and I think I liked the movie better than that.

I've heard that the soundtrack isn't nearly as good as a standalone album, but in the context of the movie it works well enough [especially the first song].

Yeah, it was funny to see the young JB singing the dragon part of the song, which made it make more sense.

The Storm the Gates song had intelligible lyrics, but now I finally understand them

"Two air vents on the roof! Thats why the guy was talking SHIT!" (since the camera comes into view).

All the songs make sense in the film, so the soundtrack isn't that bad in that sense. It's not a great albums if you aren't a huge TD fan or looking for an album.
Kei-kun
Yeah, the soundtrack is great when taken as part of the movie. Otherwise it doesn't make too much sense.

I thought that was Collin Hanks. He was the guy at the party who threw a cup at KG. I'm pretty sure of it.

Ohhhhh that was probably him.

Oh and the whole break in section was hillarious, especially with the song.

I've got catlike reflexes!!!

Dissenting opinion - The album was much more entertaining than the movie itself. >_>
Tiz
Dissenting opinions are always welcome, kind sir.
