Well, last semester I saw that I had paid $250 or so by credit card. I didn't remember paying it but I shrugged it off.
Now, I just registered for the Fall TODAY. I look at the account summary by term and under the Fall it says:
CA45 Visa/MasterCard Web Payment $100.00
I'm 100% sure I have not paid a damn thing today. The last amount I paid was $50 or so. I REALLY want to find out if it is someone, but I don't want to go to the registrar and find out that its an error and I have to pay it all back. It's neither of my parents because they would have told me they were paying. I don't know many other people in this state. What should I do? Am I weird because I want to know?

That's a pretty insignificant amount though tuition wise, right?

I would really want to know, but like you I'd be worried that it would be an error and that you'd lose your free money. I guess I'd just try my hardest to figure it out without tipping off the registrar.

Sounds like something that could come back and bite you in the ass if you don't work it out now and it turns out to have been an error all along.

Yeah it is, but that's not the point. If someone was randomly giving you money wouldn't you want to know who it was?

I don't think so, since it was a credit card payment there was someone deliberately doing it. I mean they'd have to know my name at least.

That's what I was thinking, I guess I don't understand why you wouldn't want to know.

I dunno either. Maybe I'll find out and it'll be extremely anti-climatic; leading to disappointment. Haha. Although, I'd feel quite strange going to the registrar and demanding the name of the person who last paid by credit card on my account.

Also, I think you should find out.

I just realized it says WEB payment. The only way to pay on the web is directly from my account. They would have had to log into my account in order to pay. Hmm.. this IS very odd. I don't think the registrar's office will be able to do anything though..

Maybe one/both of your parents wanted to help you out or something, but didn't want to tell you for whatever reason? I know one of my roommates who used to live with her aunt because her mom is crazy would periodically get deposits into her account that she knew nothing about, and she just assumed it was just like, "appearing", and it turned out it was her aunt, which I totally called, by the way.
