What are your favorite classes? Why?

Out of all the classes I've taken in both high school and college, I'd say my favorites were Psychology, Human Anatomy, Honors Speech, and Ethics.

Sup@chu then

In Psychology, I was really into sections that had to do with neurotransmitters, the nervous system's chemistry, and how it functioned. I also really liked Abnormal psychology.

Human Anatomy. I just like the human body yo. It's so interesting how it functions. It's just one huge cycle and chain of events. And on a simple note, there were some really pretty names for not so pretty things. This black chick in my class once said "Uterus? Dang that would be a pretty name for a baby." I liked the word menarche.

Honors Speech. So I took this shit in college. When registering, my advisor and I were having a hard time finding a final class that would work for me. Hesitantly, he said "Well...there's an Honors Speech class, and Speech is a required class." I replied "Hm, I wouldnt mind taking an Honors Speech class." He kinda just stared at my for a minute in shock and said "Damn I can't pay most people to take that class." I really liked the class. Although it made me realize that I suck at writing speeches, it was basically an ego boost for me all semester. During speeches, I would always be like "Oh fuck, some of these people wrote a really good and detailed speech but man...I dont have stuff like that." Then, I give my speech. People like it. My teacher says after class that it was her favorite because I took an odd approach to it. It was one of those gay speeches of introduction. I had to pretend a celebrity was coming to my college to speak, and I was to introduce this celebrity. I chose Kanye West. Unliie everyone else, my speech wasnt a laundry list of charity that the celebrity did. So whereas my speech emphasized my celebrity as an inspirational figure, everyone else's was all finances. Yeah, donating shit is awesome, especially money. We should all do it. But having the ability to inspire and encourage one's people to be conscious and to think really does make an impact. Anyway, it also made me realize I was good at improv and conjouring up attention grabbers. I learned that when it comes to speeches, my improved speeches are much more powerful. I did a mini speech on legalizing marijuana. I don't even remember what I said but I remember someone commenting on how making speeches like that would get the job done. So yeah I was already good at rhetoric, but I wasn't perfect. I don't like doing dialouge for stories. I learned to move and gesture while I gave speeches. I gave a legalizing prostitution speech. Being a conservative class, not many agreed with my stance, but I got alot of good comments on it. This one dude came up to my after class and shook my hand. That was cool.

Ethics. My professor was a preacher. But he was so awesomely unbiased. We learned and analyzed the history of Ethics. He gave clear study guides. He made the class interesting. I wrote a paper on Muhammad. I actually enjoyed doing it.

Freshman English. All the topics were dull and cliche. I always got so frustrated because of that, but somehow I managed. On my first essay, I got a C because it wasn't long enough. I cried. The rest of the semester was As. But anyway we had a like 2 essays a week. I had a full time job. Finding time sucked. Even though it was my least favorite class...I look back now and realized that I enjoyed creating alot of the papers I did. And I liked the fact that I only went to class once a week but still made As.

That's alot of text. I don't really expect anyone to read it, but feel free to supply your own long explanations.

high school psychology. I really wish my college didn't fuck me over when I signed up for it this semester. There are probably some others I can't remember right now.

edit: bible study was fun for me in my own twisted way. I argued with the teachers all the time.

edit edit: How could i fucking forget astronomy? That was probably my favorite class in high school. We learned all sorts of cool shit.

In college:

Computer Architecture: Unraveling the black box is a very enlightening experience. It also makes you remember exactly how fast your machine does stuff. The most advanced piece of technology absolutely anywhere is a computer.

Programming Languages: Other side of the coin. We do it in C, so as you do stuff you suddenly realize how your entire infrastructure is built.

Differential Equations: Iunno, it's awesome and fun, and has obvious real world applications. I've also been able to use diff in both physics and PChem beneficially. I could've lived my whole life without the Dirac-Delta "function", though. THAT pisses me off.

Digital Logic Design: Mostly cause it's the first hands on you can really get in EE. Excruciatingly painful doing something simple that you could do on a computer in 20 seconds, but that's why most electronic systems are generalized. Sometimes it's cheaper to shove an embedded system with way more power than you'd ever need into something than it is to build a simple circuit. But still way fun, and good intro to digital logic, obviously. Also, unraveling the mystery of the electronic Turing Machine.

General Chemistry: Cause, you know, that's life. I also enjoyed hearing my prof say "bond angle." bond angle bond angle bond angle bond angle. heheh.

Physical Chemistry: This one's weird, cause, you know, sometimes I wish that class would just end, and no one likes taking the tests. But... somehow, some way, it really clicks with me. It's like "Wow. THAT'S how EVERYTHING happens!"Freaky. Not to mention finally learning what entropy actually is, instead of just hearing about it peripherally.

In college:

Elementary Japanese 1: The teacher was so fucking awesome. It's too bad she was only a temporary professor and the permanent one sucks. She was from Japan so she was crazy, yet at the same time awesome.

American Colonial History: I normally hate American History but the professor makes it interesting.

Western Civilization to/since 1603: I've had the same professor for both classes and he is the shit. He is hilarious. He presents all the information in an interesting way.

High School

Physics- The most laid back class ever. Great teacher with great stories.

Biology- Super hot teacher, I did well, and people always wanted me on their team for the jeopardy games.
FAGBALLS420
7th/8th grade science, because the teacher was a blast. 11th grade english, same reason. 12th grade psych, because I learned a ton and I loved the material. 12th grade calc, because the teacher was a great guy and I loved the material. In college, so far my favorite class has probably been freshman calculus or my current engineering course.

Me + my 3 best friends in the world(all of us seniors) + 20 freshman boys who thought anything we did was comedy gold + hot 22 year old teacher who thought we were amazing = blast

My favorite class I've had so far was "Holocaust, Genocide, and Peace Studies," but unfortunately I can't take any more of the classes because my schedule is pretty tight as it is. I do enjoy biology though, I'm thinking of changing my major to it.

Creative Writing. Mainly because the teacher just gave us guidlines and never tied us down to a certain theme or subject matter. Brilliant, I really enjoyed it.

My classes on history or lit that are taught in German. It feels great to be able to use another language to say things other than "My name is Sara. I like to swim. How are you today?"

I also love my Nietzsche class, even though it's taught in English. I adore Nietzsche, and the prof is really passionate about his works, so it's a lot of fun.
lumabean
British Literature - My favorite teacher in the history of ever taught this class. He changed the way I viewed literature.

World Religions - Completely changed my conception about religion.

AP Biology - wut

Hospitality. I love cooking and the hospitality industry in general, so I enjoyed ever minute of it.

The Theology classes I took Freshman and Sophomore year. I had the same teacher both times (and pretty much the same class) it was really like one giant party. Sometimes we'd watch Asian films and shit with her and it was. She left half way through my sophomore year but the teacher the replaces was less fun, but she's helped me with a lot of stuff.

Gym Class sophomore year. Fucking fun that was. Got to play hockey and lacrosse and stuff most of the time.

AP English (taking right now) - I hate having to read boring ass eassays and analyzing them, but when get a bit of free reign I just go fucking crazy with it, write a load of crap and get a good grade. Writing an argument paper on why Batman is better than Superman (and getting a perfect score, AND getting better score than you're friend that did the opposite) = Priceless.
