Now granted, it usually depends on the service if you're at a restaurant, but what about the delivery guys?

Having been one before, I'm always inclined to tip very well (which varies depending on how much the order was), and since my sister is a waitress I've always been trained to tip well at restaurants. Unless the waiter/waitress was shitty.
Asuka
i always tip well because i usually go to the same restaurants
Loveless Aardvark
I don't get delivery. I always tip 20%+ at restaurants.
Dei
Probably not by american standards. We don't have a big tipping culture here.
Shocka
15-20%.

Or I always just remember $2 for every $10.

I never tip anywhere. Especially pizza guys. Fuck them.
Mr. Mojo Risin'
Not this shit again.

Yes I do.
The Clown
I don't tip based on price, I tip based on service. If the service was shitty, I usually leave about $1-2 as a tip because I give them the benefit of the doubt that they may have had to do a lot of things while I was there.

If it's good, I tip as much as I can without giving them all the money I have left, which is usually around $5-7, which is usually a lot more than 15% anyway. "Good" being refilling my drink before it hits the bottom of the glass and sits there for like 10 minutes, they're friendly to me, and they check once or twice to see if I need anything.
Svyatogornyj
I tip well, yes. I don't go out to eat if I don't feel like tipping someone.
Population Index
I've honestly never had to make this decision. If I go to a restaurant, it's always at someone elses' expense and I never order. I would tip, though.
lob
I give excellent advice, so I'd say I tip pretty damn well, you can read all of my tips in my new self-help book entitled........

well damn I didn't think that far ahead.

I tip delivery guys if the pizza is still warm, or they arrived earlier than they said they would. Otherwise, I don't tip.
Zombie N-Word
I almost never tip delivery guys, and if I do it's like a buck.

At a restaurant I'll only tip the waiter/waitress if they're really helpful in helping me decide what to order.
Elucidarius
I tip based on how well their service is. If it's awesome and I've got the cash I may leave $6 or $7 even if it's a $25 meal. However, I rarely pay for the meal when I go out to eat. ph34r.gif

Oh, I tip delivery guys $2 regardless and the people who cut my hair $4 unless they do a shitty job.
Svyatogornyj
Delivery guys get at least $3 from me as long as it came on time.
Whichever Russian/Middle Eastern guy cuts my hair gets $2-3.
Paul MC Hurt Meh
Yes. I'm a waiter, so I know how it is.
Circa Mojave
Perrty well. Unless the service is really damned craptastic.
sexlessNothing
not really im too poor to throw my money around, occasionally i tip well if soemone actually ha good customer service. Rude waitresses i give 10%. Besides, they shoulpd be smart enough to realize if they look at you and treat you better they make more money. I do it at my jobs, and I make good tips usually. Except when people ar ejust naturally cheap.
Kei-kun
I usually tip pretty well unless their service just really sucked.
Anomaly
I generally tip well in restaurants, especially with good service, most of the time between 15 and 20%, sometimes more. With delivery guys, I usually tip to the next $5 increment, and if that's less than $2 then I'll add another dollar or two. However, when the business charges a delivery fee, I subtract that amount from my tip.
Peter Coffin
I tip 15%, unless the service was terrible. Then I like to tip less than a dollar's worth in as much change possible.

See, I don't get that at all. The waiter/waitress just has to walk to your fucking table and take your order. It costs them nothing. A delivery guy uses his own car, which he has to pay gas, oil, and basic maintenance on, not to mention it takes a lot of effort to find some people's houses. Yet they always get tipped less than sit-down servers. What a raw deal.
FAGBALLS420
Yeah, always. If I get something delivered, I give at least five dollars, because delivery work kinda sucks, and people tend to be assholes to them. In restaurants, I give at least 15%.
bowler225
It used to be just kind of ok but now that I have worked in a restaraunt for over a year my tips are much much better.

yeah but everyone knows servers live off of tips, they get like $2 an hour, yeah it doesn't cost them anything but its hard busy work and sucks having to deal with people all day (except for me cuz for someone reason I like dealing with people all day). Plus a lot of restaurants have asshole managers and owners you have to deal with. And you know, don't fuck with people who see over your food. Delivery drivers can make a shitton if they're workinf around a college campus. And some places also reimburse for gas. Well, Jimmy Johns does. don't know about other places. It takes more effort to serve at sit down places, you're busy the whole fucking time. making sure multiple tables are happy. and the older the guests, the more shit you have to take and ornery they are. Man old people Bitch, and are cheap.

This.

I know it doesn't seem like a good excuse for tipping drivers less, but waiters and waitresses defintely have to put up with more crap. Plus I've always enjoyed when the waiter/waitress will stop by mid-meal just to see if you're enjoying or if want a refill on your drink.

I always tip well. I also always get my pizza before the expected time.

I don't have a fear of any "special additions", either.

Just FYI, virtually no pizza place will spit on your food or anything. Drivers are the only ones who know if you are a bad tipper, and even if they are in the store and happen to take your order they aren't making your pizza 99% of the time. The driver might not be the one to deliver it also.

That being said, drivers do remember good tippers and will put a higher priority on getting your order there on time.

The big chains do. And it doesn't go to the driver so if you subtract it you are just screwing them over.

There's a couple in vegas that do still (d'amores, metro pizza iirc, some others)

but d'amores is good, so i don't mind and metro is fucking delicious..

Hmm. I guess all the more reason for me to eat at the family-owned places. (Besides the food being higher quality.)

Yeah, and Domino's was really sneaky about it too. They never told anyone they were doing it and when I worked there we were instructed to avoid telling people about it unless they directly asked why their bill was $1 higher than it was supposed to be. They just counted on people not being good at math.
Reverend_Null
Drivers live off of tips. Sure, they get minimum wage but that covers gas and wear and tear on their vehicle.

People who don't tip delivery drivers should die. If you're too poor to tip, you're also too poor to eat out. Eat your fucking ramen and be happy.
sexlessNothing
hell naw, ill eat cheap pizza then give you my spare change. haha.

That being said, man do I hate when people empty their pennies and pocket change into my tip jar when im bartending. ASSHOLES.
Ænima
People here make at least 7.50 an hour, so not really at restaurants. Pizza guys maybe, but it depends on if they give me cheese/peppers or not.
InSaNe_Santa
fuck no.
i can usually barely afford what i'm eating, why blowmore

Sure it's a dick thing to do. I am very aware. Sucks for the delivery guy. But if I'm paying for him to bring me my pizza or whatever, I am not going to be redundant with my money. Besides, it's not like I'm not tipping him... take a dollar out of a 20% tip on the amount of pizza it takes to feed me and three hungry college guys and it's still a good tip.
OriginalZane
90% of the time I tip probably more tha I should.
but if someone is an ass, they get the wrath.

You'll be glad to hear that machines are starting to spread that allow you to dump all of your change in and get bills almost instantly...at a small fee (I think 3%?)

They're still jerks, but at least it's not wasted now..I guess?

They have those in the grocery stores around here, and the fees is up to 9% here.

And collecting change is a great idea. A friend of mine just filled up a teuilla bottle and got 400 bucks by just emptying his pocket change everyday into it.
loveless
I tip too well, in fact. I usually tip between 30% and 40%. Sucks for me.

Papa Gino's, the pizza place I worked for, charged a dollar for delivery, but it did go to the drivers.

Those are in the grocery stores here, haven't seen them any place else. Coinstar or something like that.. some fee of using it, like $2 per use + some dollar amount/$10 of change.
Epoch
Usually 15%. 20%+ if they were really good. Delivery guys get 2-3 bucks...
lolnard copenhagen
I tip well for the most part, if I'm doing the ordering. Usually when I go out to restaurants it's at someone else's expense, though.
Trogdor the Burninator
Yes, I do. My best friend is a waitress so she guilt trips me into it all the time. Before, I didn't at all though.
