So I've done a bit of work and I've compiled these parts to make a pretty sweet gaming rig
CD Burner - SONY Black 16X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 16X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 5X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 24X CD-RW 40X CD-ROM IDE DVD Burner
Monitor - SAMSUNG 720N Black 17" 8ms LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 600:1
Video Card - HIS Hightech H195PRQT512DDN-R Radeon X1950PRO 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 IceQ Turbo HDCP Video Card
RAM - CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 Allendale 1.8GHz 2M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor
Case - RAIDMAX SMILODON ATX-612WBP Black SECC STEEL ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 500W Power Supply
Motherboard - GIGABYTE GA-965P-S3 LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard
Hard drive - Seagate Barracuda ES ST3320620NS 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
-If necessary-
Power supply- Thermaltake W0106RU Complies with ATX 12V 2.2 & EPS 12V version 700W Power Supply 100 - 240 V CE, CB, TUV, FCC, UL, CUL, and BSMI certified
Now I'm a little unsure of the Video card and the Processor but overall the idea here is to be able to have a machine that rocks games like World of Warcraft out of the water(Maybe not quite Oblivion) for under a grand
Any Comments/Concerns/Criticisms would be helpful
Update #1- Updated for Intel mobo and c2d and new case

I bought a prebuilt for 600 that rocks WoW out of the water, but I can't find out if I can play Oblivion. I'm farily sure I can, just on low or medium settings.

The link doesn't work. it shows me as having to log on. For under a grand, you can do it.

Make sure that PSU has enough amperage. A lot of PSUs that come with cases are only so-so.

500 Should be plenty unless you're going to do SLI and use 2 vid cards. Make sure you allow money for fans, and I'd go with the HUGE fans... 120mm because they are the most quiet. If you can pull those parts off for under a grand then awesome work. Seems like a VERY nice rig.

That comp will destroy WoW and quite probably kill Oblivion too. I never played Oblivion on PC.

no, it won't kill oblivion
anyway
switch to an intel mobo and c2d and you're good to go

Go with a different case maybe, all the reviews for the one that you currently have say that the case is made cheaply and the PSU will die within a year or so.

That's still an AMD mobo, and while that is a very nice PSU, it's definitely overkill for what parts you've selected.
