I just had a big WTF moment that I'm sure you're all just dying to hear about.

There's this show on the USA Network called Monk. I don't really sit down and watch episode after episode, but I've seen a fair bit of the stuff. Anyway, one of the main characters is this moustached police captain named Leland Stottlemeyer.



Well, I saw on Wikipedia that the actor that plays him is Ted Levine, otherwise known as...



Buffalo Bill! I've seen both the movie and the show plenty of times and it still didn't click in my mind. Am I crazy or do they look nothing alike?

Anyway, post those moments where you figured out really obvious, useless information and were hit with a wave of disbelief.

That's pretty crazy. I watch Monk when I can catch it, and I've never made the connection.

In that same vein, William Peterson (Gil Grissom on the original CSI) was the original Will Graham in Manhunter, before Hollywood raped the story and released it as Red Dragon with Ed Norton in the role.

EDIT: And Brian Cox was in exponentially better Dr. Lecter than Hopkins. Much truer to the book.

I didn't know Dr. Cox from Scrubs was also in Office Space.

I've been trying to convince my mom for about two or three years now that the guy from Monk is Buffalo Bill, and she pretty much refuses to believe it. Since she can't see it either, I guess you're not crazy.
