Pronger is in town tonight. ... *shakes fist*
On a happier note, I'm going to the Oiler's game on Saturday. That should be fun.
Go RANGERS!!
I can't believe they're doing as good as they are in the standings with the way they've been playing. Although I suppose it helps that they're in 1 of only 2 divisions in the entire league without a 30+ point team.

Oh well, take what you can get.

Unfortunately, since my cable provider doesn't pick up FSN Pittsburgh, Canada gets to see more Penguins games this year than I do. Way more. I watch when they're on national TV, but that's only about 7 times a season.

Penguins edge out Atlanta 4-3, have an AMAZING rally against the Capitals from 0-4 to win it 5-4 in a shootout, and now they destroy Philly. This may be the spark they need to get to the playoffs this year. A win over the Islanders today would jump them in the standings.
Wayne Gretzky thinks Sidney Crosby's gonna be the one to break his records, and if his recent performance is any indication of how he'll play for the rest of his career, I'm inclined to agree. I know Mario Lemieux would love to see that happen.

I'm super fucking glad for Center Ice. It's awesome.
Anyone catch the Stars/Oilers game last night? Hilarious. With like 10 seconds left, a Stars player misses an open net to go up by two and ice the game, then the Oilers rush up ice and tie it.

Pens point streak finally ends, but they're still ridiculously hot. I'm pumped about them...I knew they'd be good this year, but I never guessed they'd be the Championship threat they are.
They've gotta keep my streak going...each year for the past 2 years a team I like has been a Championship team. The Red Sox in 04, the Steelers in 05-06. The Buckeyes fucked it up for 06-07, but the Penguins are still alive.

Things are getting interesting with ~20 games left.
Also, did anyone see that huge fucking brawl tonight? 5 fights at one time, including the goalies, then a goalie with a tough forward. 110 penalty minutes.

But still, it's pretty lame that ESPN barely even shows hockey highlights, but will show hockey early in sportscenter only when there's a huge fight or it's deep in the playoffs.

This topic somewhat represents why Bettman is going in the wrong direction with the league. There are no hockey fans in the States. When 6 teams are responsible for 1/3 of the entire profits in the league, that screams "EXPAND NORTH!".
Detroit/NYR in the cup final. NYR will take it to 6 and then lose, because Detroit collapses too well and is too much of an offensive powerhouse for any other team in the league to handle.

I'm personally totally cool with parity. It's the die-hard fans that will help the league by taking their friends to games. Half of the people at games in the south you'll hear say "I didn't know but once I went to a game I was hooked"

but hockey highlights are the best part of Sportscenter because Barry Melrose is awesome. They should just make him an anchor and get rid of hockey highlights.

Oh please, NYR won't even get past the Sabres. Calling a Ducks/Sabres cup final, but if the ducks continue to suck it's going to be Detroit/Sabres.

size, grinding, etc. If its ducks/sabres, I expect a 5 or 6 game Ducks win. Detroit/Buffalo would have some nice 10+ goal games, but hardly any hitting at all.
NYR just won yesterday. They aren't out yet.
