Our current settings allow each member to post one reply at a time in each topic. If you make a subsequent post right after the previous one, it will become concatenated onto it making for one post. This is a good feature for many reasons, but Landak pointed out one fatal flaw that would make posting links on the porn board very tedious. This is a global setting that can't be applied to specific boards, so it's either all or none.

Whadda you guys all think?

Edit: I'm considering turning on txt file uploading for that board and letting you all attach your big old lists. Would you consider that as an alternative?

What exactly is the problem with the porn board? I guess I'm stupid, because I don't see it, I guess. Is it because there are so many links within one post that it exceeds the character limit?

I don't like it.

The problem is that if you want to post several hundred links, you'll need to post them in multiple posts because there is a limit to how much you can write in per post. If you make multiple posts back to back, it will try and shove all of the content into one post which just won't work because of the limit.

I voted yay and meant nay. It's also a pain in the arse for the what are you listening/what are you eating topic if you were the last post on it.

Funny thing happened to me when I answered a couple of topics one after the other...

I voted no because I thought you meant all posts in a topic by one person will be merged. I was wondering how anybody could possibly want that feature.

For me it's a nonissue since I just edit, I don't make another post. So one of those nos is a who gives a crap.

I should have mentioned that it's possible to limit the time you have between posts for the posts not to be merged. The current setting is 10 minutes. The minimum is one minute.

So, to clarify. If you post once, and then again with the next ten minutes, if the new post is right after your previous post they will be merged. This is the current setting.
