mine has been beeping randomly every minute or so all night and I couldn't find a way to turn it off. The battery is a backup so it still works when I take it out, and I can't disconnect the wires. Help me.

I assume the reason you can't disconnect the wires is that you live in a dorm room or something. If that's the case, tell your RA and let them deal with it.

It means the battery is low. Replace it.

My mom's smoke detector has been doing that for 2 years, even after changing the battery. They've learned to live with it.

I'd smash it with a hammer. Smoke alarms are useless.

it randomly beeps at my house too. there have been a lot of nights when everyone get up simultaneously in the middle of the night, we didn't figure out till later that it was the alarm that woke us
