Seeing Roger Waters do Dark Side of the Moon in early February. It should be one hell of a show. Might see Tenacious D if I can still get tickets.

I saw roger waters in september from 5 rows away. IT WAS SEX MOTHER FUCKER .... SEX. Prepare for an awesome show.

Just got back from moe. in Denver with !LLF! and Entendu. Good show, good times.

No one got pictures though, we were all lazy.

!LLF!
There are rumors that Waters is going to tour Dark Side again in America in June/July 07. I hope to Jesus that's true becuase I'm going no matter what.
Svyatogornyj
Waters is lame, I'm pissed I missed Gilmour at the end of last year. The set list and the show just sounded amazing.
Vicious
I hear The Police are going to do a reunion tour.

I know for fact the new Kagrra album is being released hopefully within a month.

If you hear of Type O Negative tour dates, keep me posted.

Just got back from moe. downtown. Killer show. And I got my fucking Time Ed. Time Ed > George to be exact.

EDIT:

This is just sick.

I just fucking got home and it's already posted.

Mono/World's End Girlfriend tour this spring with GRAILS. Stoked.
It's the first day of No Fun Fest, though, so I hope Merzbow or Keiji Haino isn't headlining that night.

Waters and Gilmour aren't as good on their own as they were in Floyd, but the Waters show was fucking awesome. Every song was a Pink Floyd song except for one. He did all of Dark Side, plus a shitload of others. Shine On, WYWH, Comfortably Numb (guitar solo wasn't as good as Gilmour obviously), Pigs, etc. He actually had the massive inflatable pig and they brought it out into the audience and released it into the air (outside show) right near where I was sitting.

Anyway, I'm going to see The Roots on March 8th. I think my tickets are only a few rows back and Lupe is opening so it should be awesome.
Brent Black
North Mississippi Allstars last Saturday. Good times. No idea what's next...I'll just be keeping my eye on the email mailings, I guess. The only things I know of in my future right now are Summercamp (obviously) and Amy Winehouse on May 3.
Brent Black
Never mind, found my upcoming show.

Makes me want to start doing it more.

Going to Modest Mouse here soon, anyone seen em live?

This Friday: Pelican/Russian Circles/Dead Songs/Young Widows at St. John's Church.

April 18th: Mono/World's End Girlfriend at Headliner's.

April 27th: Ut Gret performing Terry Riley's "In C" at the Jazz Factory.

I'll assume that they suck if he's sober, that's usually how it goes.

moe.s in-stores have been a lot of fun, from what I've heard. You get a chance to chat with the band and stuff. It's free, why not?

I have a wmv from one of their in-stores (Blue Jeans Pizza to be exact) if you're interested.
Brent Black
Chicago Errors, there's a free show coming up as part of the Green Apple festival for Earth Day. April 22, Lincoln Park Zoo, Umphrey's McGee and the Disco Biscuits. I'm buyin' beers for anyone who shows up.

Not sure. I get it at the show. I'll post pics afterwards, and post the cd.

Just got back from The Roots/Lupe show. It was fucking awesome. The Roots played a two and a half hour set and it was all kick ass. They did this one long ass medley for like 15 minutes where they would cover a minute or so of a song and go into another one. I can remember them doing I Ain't No Joke, This Is Why I'm Hot, It's Goin Down, Lost Ones, Hip Hop Is Dead, Planet Rock, Deep Cover, Brooklyn Zoo (Black Thought did a good ODB impression too), and Pass That. I know there were others though. They did tons of songs off Game Theory and older stuff. They also just jammed out on instruments for at least a half hour too. Lupe and Little Brother both played for maybe a half hour each. Definitely worth the money. It was a great, great show.

Taste of Chaos this month, i can't wait happy.gif

Skipped Pelican/Russian Circles/Young Widows because I'd already seen all the bands play anyway. I've also decided that yes, I am going to the Moe in-store performance, even if I don't like them that much. There are a few records I wanna get from this half-off assorted vinyl sale so I'll have even more of a reason to be there.

Ok, so this was the lineup for this show:
The Dimes
The Bears
Druggist
Scissors for Lefty
Dios (Malos)

The Dimes were a group of 18 year olds from Houston. They rocked out pretty hard and had a ton of energy. Great garage rock.

The Bears were pretty good, not very enthusiastic, though. Played a couple new songs which were nice. They are from Cleveland, Ohio.

Druggist is a local (meaning San Antonio) band. They played some OK get drunk music. Just kids having fun really, but they were pretty crazy. They put on a decent show.

Scissors for Lefty is from San Francisco. They were fucking awesome!!! They were hilarious, really badass! Highly recommended if you like FUN rock.

Dios (Malos) was FUCKING AMAZING. Holy shit, one of the best bands on the planet, for sure. I haven't heard their records, so I don't know if they do them justice... They played a SICK mix of triphop, reggae, and psychedelic rock. Like, holy shit. They blew me far, far away. The are from Hawthorne, California. Jesus christ they were amazing. When they came one, you could tell you were in for a good ride. The drummer was absolutely nuts, licking the cymbals and getting so into the music. The guitarist/singer was a huge mexican dude and absolutely destroyed. The bassist was just as awesome. So much talent. Then there is their keyboardist and effects dude. Fuck. Just an amazing band. See them if you can.

Tonight: Division Day, Marcus Rubio, Big Soy, Oppenheimer, and Birdmonster

Looking forward to it!

Anyone going to Rock the Bells in NYC this year? I'm gonna take a train up with my girlfriend to see Wu-Tang Clan and RATM. Those are the only two acts announced so far (the rest will get announced on the 26th I think), but it's already enough for me.
Svyatogornyj
Depending on cost and how many kids I know that actually go, I may end up there since I'm right here.

Anyway, bought my ticket for No Fun Fest Day 3 last night.

Two people I've been dying to see for years on the same bill. I'm pretty happy about that. I have to miss Day 1 because it's the same day as the Mono/Grails show in NYC.
I also bought tickets for Acid Mothers Temple in NYC on a Thursday in April and then again in Brooklyn the next day. Couldn't be more psyched [lololol] for that one.

Damn, I envy you, you get to see Keiji Haino and Merzbow. AMT will be fucking awesome though, i'm seeing them sometime soon also.

I am insanely jealous of Svyatogornyj being able to go to No Fun Fest.

I could go see Antibalas on the 14th of April and/or Mono on the 18th, but the one I'm really looking forward to is still Ut Gret playing Terry Riley's "In C" on the 27th.

Lets see...This Friday I'm seeing Mushroomhead w/ Black Flood Deisel, the Human Abstract, Marazene. Then on Sunday is Taste of Chaos.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! is opening up for T.I. at Cameron Indoor Stadium for the Cameron Rocks event at Duke this year.

Weirdest. Combo. Ever.

Should be good though, I hope T.I. is a rapper who's actually good live.

I've never even heard of TI, but Clap Your Hands is opening for a rapper? Hahaha, that's... awesome.
!LLF!
Modest Mouse was a meh. They started out good. But Isac gets way too fucked up. He has to have an on-stage babysitter to pick up after him and help him stand up.

Right when they took the stage, someone threw a glass up on the stage. Issac started to freak out and said he'd fight everyone.

Halfway through his string snapped and it cut him.

I'd say a 5/10.

You've never heard of T.I.? That's really surprising, I find it hard to believe you haven't heard at least one of these: Rubber Band Man, Bring 'Em Out, or You Don't Know Me. They all got extremely heavy radio play. He's one of the biggest Southern rap names in the country.

I haven't heard any of CYHSY's stuff. Any recommendations on a first album to snag?

Yeah, I understand that a lot of live acts are drunk-influenced, which I don't mind, I'm sure the fellas from Moe. get a little tipsy between sets, but they play their faces off. But towards the latter-half of the MM show, shit got realllly sloppy.

Brock remained narsasistic throughout the whole thing, I felt bad for the other band members, they were all real mellow and were doing a perfectly fine job, and Brock was sloping shit up.

I forgot to mention how this babysitter guy knows all of the riffs and guitar lines, becuase ocasionally Brock will quit playing and tear a mic off the stand and start walking around and singing. This dude will pick up the guitar and start playing for him.

Also at some point, right after Brock's string snapped, they kinda stopped in the middle of the song. Babysitter-guy was like restraining Brock, trying to calm him down or something. The rest of the band and the audience was really confused.

Overall, not worth 30 bucks. At least Paper Thin Walls and Float On sounded alright.
Spaz Medicine
Haha, thats kinda funny because i remember reading an interview a while ago where Brock said he needs to stop getting so fucked up at shows.
Brent Black
Yes, moe. gets pretty trashed at their shows. At least Chuck and Rob do. Rob's been so fucked up on-stage that he's handed his bass off to the crowd. (check the segue between gone and 32 on 12-31-03) Certain cities are worse than others. Like, they're always trashed in Chicago because they're such good friends with Umphrey's McGee, who's local to these parts, and its always a party backstage when moe. is in town.

But they can still do their jobs, that's the thing. It's one thing to catch a buzz and enjoy yourself, its another thing entirely to get so trashed you can't do what you're paid to do.

Well that explains it. Radio. I don't listen to it... and I'm like the only person I know (that I hang out with) that likes rap, now that I think about it. Oh wait, there's a few.

They've only got 2 albums, their self-titled, and the one that just came out, Some Loud Thunder. I'd reccomend... well, both, since they only have 2, but go in order. Hell I'll upload them for you.
