I've been considering getting one once I save up a bit of money and I was just wondering how much you guys spent a month on gas and insurance and whatnot. If I do get one I've been thinking about spending no more than 5 grand on it, (more like 2 or 3 if I can). I dont want one of those racing bikes (or a bike that looks like a racing bike) but rather something in this kind of style:

But probably not a harley because they're damn expensive.

So just any experience you've had that you're willing to share is welcome. smile.gif

Same question as him, but with a crotch rocket.

And are they THAT dangerous? >.>

If you know how to drive...then you only have to worry about the fact that the idiots in cars probably don't. You can be relatively safe if you are the type of person that is always completely aware of their surroundings.

lol I don't own a motorcycle.

EDIT: I grew up around bikers though.

I'd suggest you look into a used 600 if you want a crotch rocket...lol

The pic I posted is actually a Sportster but a really old one. All the new ones I found on Google were either really huge pics or were on those interactive pages that dont let you link the image directly.

Yeah, they're that dangerous. Any slight slip up isnt like a car... A car can maybe spin out or something and still be okay. But if you whip your bike around or something, you're gonna get seperated from it, and then its just you and the ground. Just ride within your limits.

The problem is usually someone else hitting you.
