Alright so I plan on starting to run in the morning. The thing is should I eat breakfast before running or after running? if I eat breakfast after running should I have a snack before hand, say a banana?

Before running, so your body doesn't cannibalize your muscle in search for energy. Just don't eat so much that digesting takes too much effort and you cramp up.

That.
Also, it would be ideal if you could put off running for about half an hour or so after you eat so your body can focus on running and not digesting what you ate.

And dont eat a feast. Cereal or something will be fine.

I agree with the above comments. Eat a light smart breakfast, let it settle, maybe spend that time getting in the mind set, and warming up, then run.
Make sure you are well hydrated from the day before too!

Alright so what kind of cereal? Say granola? Cheerios? or what about oatmeal?

Oatmeal is the absolute best thing you can eat in the morning.
As for cereal, just get something high in fiber, and with few processed sugars. Wheaties ftw, also, lactose-free milk for the cereal if you're trying to cut or tone up.
