Give it a listen and post thoughts in this thread.
[Archive] Each week, someone picks an album, everyone gives it a listen and shares their opinion. This is for people who love ALL genres of music, so there won't be any restrictions on what might be the album of the week. If you hate a lot of genres, that's fine, but this club isn't for you.

If you don't have oink, you can simply post in the "Invite topic" and get an invite, but we'll have a backup plan also. I'm sure you'll be able to use the hub or any sort of uploading means to get it taken care of. Oink is just the default source of the album.

I listened through it already. It was fun (the kind of thing you dance to), and I heard a little bit of jazz in there which is a plus. It reminded me of Gunbound and Mario Kart.

I saw "ska" and actually groaned out loud. But after an intial listen, I really dig it. Good party music. It's hard to tell one song from another, but that'll probably change with a few monre listens.

yeah, i only put ska in there for genre because they all used to be in different punk ska bands, so its really only a touch from that. its closer to a salsa/dance record than anything else i think. i probably should have thrown jazz in there instead.

Yeah, I've been to a few parties where this was playing, and if nothing else, it's randomly fun as hell to dance to.
7/10.

I suppose it would make some good background music to a show but I didn't really care for it enough to listen to it on its own.

Looks good.

That was pretty good. Most of the songs sounded pretty similar to me, but I only gave it one listen-through with it in the background. Very enjoyable, fun with dancing.

Everything about this record is top-notch.
I love all the different sounds. My favorite track was probably "Good Lookin'". I loved the high-energy organ lounge music sound of some tracks and the 60's surf rock ska attack of the others. Reminds me of Space Station: Silicon Valley (N64) which had one of my favorite game OSTs.
Really a great release all around, 9/10 easily.

I'll agree with the background comments. It isn't really strong enough to stand on its own if you ask me, but it's better listening than most of the stuff out there. Not the kind of thing I would pop in a CD of, but it could be decent music in a movie or etc.

The movie music idea was the same one that struck me. It would actually work quite well that way.
I can't comment on individual songs as they are all kind of melding into one for me. Though I like the bits when they are vocals and a bit of clapping. You could definitely see that working with a group of people dancing and whatnot.

Wasn't feeling this. I guess they are kind of upbeat and peppy tunes, but that's not that impressive to me. Didn't have much time to really decipher which individual tracks I like best this week either.
I'll get another one up when dei gives me a recommendation.

I really dig the style, but I agree that all the songs kind of just blend together. It's fun stuff, but it's a little too busy for its own good sometimes. Almost like they were afraid to take it down a notch. It would be cooler if they sprinkled in a few slower tracks with a different texture, because this album feels like one long suite.

I'm going to have to agree with pretty much a lot of the things everyone said. The songs themselves weren't very memorable, but there are places where I remember thinking I like this part. I think in that one . . . part 4 something, there was this part where I think thye may have used voices to compliment the instruments it was a la-lala- kind of thing, and I enjoyed that.
Good album will listen to semi-frequently.

My thoughts exactly. I think some more vocal work might have helped too. The whole "la la la" thing in one song was nice, but I like my music to have lyrics.
