I watched episode ten today and laughed at the end where Peter gets arrested, just because I knew Nathan was gonna be pissed. Cops are gonna be mighty stumped when they find out that all the blood is his, though.
evildoughnuts
It was episode 9 actually. I thought it ended great. Especially with Hiro popping up in the past like that. I still don't think Hiro will succede in saving Charlie. I'm guessing her death will be the catalyst that changes Hiro into the hero he's supposed to become(aka. The time traveling samurai pimp seen earlier on when he talks to Peter.)

Plus with Peter getting arrested like that, I believe it will lead to him meeting up with Matt since him and that one FBI chick are working on the Sylar case.
AlienFromBeyond
I loved the episode. The series is starting to get a bit less disjointed, and that can only be a good thing.

Nice thought process there.

I got the Peter meeting up with Matt thing from an interview I saw online. It never said how they meet, just that they do around episode 14-15ish when Matt questions him about Sylar.

Also, did anyone else get a clear shot of the painting Isaac finished? The one where it looks like it was a guy on fire or something. It'd be strage to see the guy that can control heat/radiation turn into a human torch. It'd be pretty awesome though. Either that, or possibly could he be the one that caused the nuclear blast that destroys New York?

I never connected the nuc guy and the NYC explosion, but that's probably it.

Niki is a really irritating character. That is all.

Found some clips from the upcoming episode. Turns out they update it every week with clips from the next episode.

I like DL's character, I'm looking forward to how they integrate him into the story.

I always thought Kitty Pride had a stupid power until I saw DL using it. He just makes it seem cooler.

Also Niki doesn't really have a power or anything so it's really stupid. It would have been better if she Hulked out or something but she just turns "bad." Big whoop.

It's kind of annoying how everyone seems to be having powers now. Like the one girl that controlled Sylar's mind or whatever. I would have like it if they kept the heroes to a minimum. If Simone ends up having powers I'll be pissed.

I'm pretty sure Niki has superstrength, she was able to cause D.L. to fly through the air and fucking rip guys in two.

Well It sort of makes sense, becuase they're not going to be showing us a bunch of non-powered people; the show is about heroes. Also horn-rimmed glasses dude does like to surround himself with people who have powers [Haitian].

And Niki definitely has super strength, she opens the door of a safe by just ripping it over after turning to Jessica a few episodes ago.

I know they are not going to show a bunch of non-powered people. But Simone is part of Peter's story. It can't be that there are all these heroes with friends that are also heroes. I mean the fact that DL, Nikki and Micah all have powers is a little too much for me. Maybe if they explain exactly how they GET their powers it might more sense. Rather than saying it was just genetic.

At the very least, we sorta know how Hiro got his powers. It was implied in the online comic that his gramps was affected by the radiation from Hiroshima.

Cool episode. I'm glad they put it in the middle of the season.

And Sylar seems cool actually. I'm not quite sure of his powers though. He can take someone's powers? If so maybe Peter used his temporary ability to take powers to take Sylar's permanent ability to take powers which would give Peter the ability to permanently take powers. ......Or am I looking way into this?

My theory is that by removing someone's brain, he can view it'...I dunno, configuration, and then use his base powers (something related to his good ear for fixing those clocks) and reconfigure his own brain to give himself the same powers.

Doesn't make sense but it's all I've got.

Well remember in an earlier episode with the little girl, Syler turned the FBI bitch's gun to her head and he like had all the bullets bounce off of him.

Yeah I can see something along those lines. Because it showed a quick shot of the inside of a clock and then he told the guy that his brain is broken or something (can't remember exactly). It sort of suggests that he can see the inner workings of their mind.
AlienFromBeyond
As far as I can tell, Sylar can tell when something is broken and fix it. He uses this ability to examine super-powered people's brains and alter his own to gain their power. This is why he goes after those with powers, so he can gain more power for himself. Right now we only know that he has telekinesis, though he probably has incredible memory recall now, and undoubtedly some others we don't know about.

So...if Peter used Sylar's power to permanently take his power then he could temporarily and permanently take other people's powers.

Well genetic mutation + genetic mutation = genetic mutation, so Micah has powers because his parents have powers. And his parents have powers because of a random ass genetic mutation, evolution basically.

Nah you can't look too into this; the question's hinge on how exactly Sylar is able to absorb people's powers . . . because if he just changes his mind than, Peter could absorb people's powers permanently while he has Sylar's powers and even permanently add sylar's powers. In which case he could add people's powers by killing them . . .
or just temporarily using their power and than permanently having it; frankly I don't think it will happen as I doubt Peter will realise what sylar's power also considering he has just barely realised what His own are.

I was reading this theory about Nikki and her powers, so is her power super-strength? or is it the ability to absorb another's conscience . . .
is jessica the conscience of her dead sister?
or is jessica a "being" nikki created to deal with pain?
So is jessica split-personality based powers or is she super-strengthed . . . AHHAHAHAHA!

Also Nikki/Jessica's dad could possibly be the Petreli's father as well . . . which would totaly make for a nice tie-in.
Though this would ony be true if The father dude dided after Jessica visited him; and it would sort of make sense if he was never around . . . maybe.
FAGBALLS420
Just finished watching the episode. I'm pretty sure Sylar has to remove a brain to see how it works, and can change his own accordingly.

As for Nikki/Jessica, I'm pretty sure that Nikki has dissociative identity disorder and super strength as her power. Growing up in an abusive environment could have caused the disorder, and only the Jessica personality has realized how to use the power. There's no indication that the Jessica personality actually IS Nikki's sister, as she never says anything that Nikki couldn't have known herself.

I didn't realize Peter's power until he actually said it. I felt dumb.

Also, X-Men ahoy! lol

Sylar's ability to take other people's powers is totally boring. Hopefully he has a better motivation than "Destroying the world" or becoming the strongest Hero...

I think he's trying to prove to the world that he's different. In the last episode he said that he wanted to be different, but ended up like his father as a watch maker. He didn't like his old life so he did what he had to do to become something more then an "average joe". I think he got addicted to the power he realized he could have and is after the others so he would be the only one with powers. To become someone who he believes is greater then everyone else.
Shawn
The black dude not DL is awesome.

Ok. First of all, Holy fuck at the ending. Peter going critical like that, just holy shit. So far, I've only been able to come up with two possible reasons for it.

Reason one being Peter comes into contact with the radioactive guy, thus absorbing his power. However with no experience and possible emotional extremes could cause it to activate beyond a level of control, thus destorying New York.

Reason two(and the most likely imo) being that since Peter absorbs the powers of those around him, the combination of so many heroes around him causes an overload his body can't take. That in turn could possibly lead to the blast that was seen due to all that energy being released at once.

As for Hiro..goddamn. I swear, he just keeps getting cooler and cooler as the show continues. I cannot wait to see him get that sword.
Corpus
It would be possible for Peter to take Sylar's powers though. Although he would have to look at his brain.....

......I don't know why I'm still going on about this. I just think it's annoying he has to be around others to have powers. That would piss me off.

Eh. I for one don't think Peter has anything to do with the explosion at all and that it's just a metaphorical thing.

I think it's this one. Peter feels really bad while with/after meeting Matt when he had just been near Sylar and Claire hours ago. So many together at the same time would probably overload him as you said.

Eh, they focus waaaay too much on Nikki's tattoo for it to be there randomly. I'm betting that her powers were given to her by whatever that symbol is, and not the result of something random.

As everyone said, Hiro is awesome.
