Pretty sad, all we've talked about has been deleted. Guess it's BCS time.
Frankie G
Rutgers lost. Knew it was gonna end sometime soon.
kyle
Can somebody pin these topics?

And yeah, Rutgers completely choked.
Shawn
OSU vs. Michigan, Arkansas, USC, ND, Florida, West Virginia, or....Boise State lol we shall see in the end.
Zebrahead

Assuming USC wins out it'll probably be them. Sadly.

I'd like to see Ohio State try and stop West Virginia. Too bad WVU doesn't have a defense.
kyle
Sounds to me like if USC wins out Michigan doesn't have a chance.
Shawn
With Arkansas playing 2 top 10 teams in their last 2 games, they have the edge over a USC winning out.
kyle
Why does everyone still talk like Notre Dame has a chance for the national championship? I don't care if they beat USC or not, you don't get blown out by Michigan on your own turf then jump them to play Ohio State.

I say if USC wins, they play Ohio State. If USC loses then the SEC Championship winner should jump to 2nd in the BCS and play in the national championship game.

Their problem is that people will still look at their 50-14 loss to USC and be skeptical.

And if Oregon doesn't win the Civil War tomorrow I'll cry.

Well USC lost to Oregon State, I don't care how close the game was, OSU sucks bad.

7-4 is sucking bad? OK...

Hell they had some solid wins vs. USC and Arizona State University, but the Pac 10 is pretty pathetic and they won the other games they should have vs. Washington, Arizona, and Stanford. Out of conference they played what? Boise State was the only challange and they got murdered. They'll also lose to Oregon on Sat.

And this was the first game of the season for an Arkansas team who didn't know what to expect, but they have won every game since and are in position to stay ahead of USC if they win out, imho.

I also heard that McFadden was around 50-75 percent during that game.
Zebrahead

Figures we lose our last one in a heartbreaker. Christ. What a disappointing year.
Shawn
And Arkansas is done too haha
Shawn
West Virginia goes down to USF.

West Virginia goes down to USF.

I REALLY don't understand that one.

The Big East isn't a good conference. I really feel none of those teams are deserving of their records, but maybe I'm alone on that one.
Shawn
USF is a good top 50 team and they played well.
kyle
If the Big East and Big Ten teams went against each other I guarentee the Big East would probably have more wins. It's really an underrated conference.
Shawn
Boise State goes undefeated.
Zebrahead

Boise State goes undefeated.

Well they deserve the Fiesta Bowl then. Nevada was a decent team and Boise stomped them.

That's laughable....

Eh, both conferences have three big teams (OSU, Michigan, Wisconsin/Rutgers, WVU and Louisville) and everyone else who are capable of pulling upsets sometimes.

It'd be close but I do think the Big Ten is slightly stronger.
Shawn
Does anyone think even with a win over USC that ND will be in the National Championship game if Florida doesn't win out?
Zebrahead

Nope. Michigan will get a rematch before it.

You honestly think teams like Minnesota, Northwestern, Illinois, Purdue, Iowa, and Indiana could beat teams like Cinncy, USF, and UConn? The Big Ten has been one of worst conferences this year, the only reason they're still considered good is because Ohio State and Michigan are 1 and 2.

Absolutely, but it's all opinion and neither of us are obviously going to agree. The Big Ten isn't some power conference by any means but the Big East is a joke imo. The three great record teams are beyond overrated. Their offenses are absolutely amazing, I agree there. But all three teams defenses are absolutely horrific, I mean just god awful, High School level. I think any fucking team in the Big Ten, other than Illinois who is just beyond bad, could beat any of the Big Easts teams any given day.
kyle
Looks like USC will be jumping Michigan now. IF USC loses, it'll be intresting to see if Florida manages to jump Michigan or Michigan get's a rematch in the national championship game.
Grimes
I doubt Florida would get the jump on UM. I really can't stand USC, but I'd much rather see them in the National Championship than Michigan again.

I think a lot of this campus and city are torn about what we'd like to see. On one side, Michigan proved they're not overrated and are a solid team. On the other side, they had their chance and couldn't get the job done. Michigan has smashed the hopes of an otherwise unblemished Ohio State team many years in the long rivaled history, and all we got was a "tough luck". I would love to shut Mike Hart up, because I honestly feel we could beat them again. Not everything went 100% for either team, it wasn't just Michigan.

So assuming USC doesn't blow it, I think we'll be seeing them in Tempe.

Is that a joke, lol, I hope so because if you really think that Cincy, USF, and UConn, could beat Iowa, Indiana, or Purdue, you know nothing about football.

I think the Big East proved how terrible they are with WVU losing to USF, and Rutgers getting absolutely demolished by UC, UC is pretty bad.

Michigan, Ohio State, Penn St, Wisconsin, and Iowa would trounce over just about any Big East team, with Louisville and WVU being the only teams to put a fight.

And only reason Big Ten is considered good is because of OSU and MIch being 1 and 2? What about wisconsin? The yare 7 in AP and 6 in USA today, and about the same in BCS.

South Florida 4-3 8-4
Cincinnati 4-3 7-5
Pittsburgh 2-5 6-6
Connecticut 1-5 4-7
Syracuse 1-6 4-8

Great teams right there...they would anihilate the Big Ten </sarcasm>

Hell I bet the big tens bottom 4 teams would take any of those teams listed above. And trying to play the big tens top three agains Big Easts top three...lets see.....OSU, Michigan, Wisconsin vs....Rutgers, WVU, and Louisville, I'm pretty sure Big Ten would win all those games.

The Big East proved how weak they were when they couldn't produce a a dominate undefeated team, by them beating each other it just proves that no one has established themselves as the top rated teams, any crap team at any given moment can beat each other. You say that gives them depth??? No, a conference is supposed to have 2 or 3 teams that can just pound all the others, that's how you prove strength in conference.
The President
Rutgers losing was a fluke and you know it.

I'm not denying it wasn't a fluke. I'm just saying, a conference proves its strength by how the top teams do against the bottom rung teams. And Rutgers didn't just get unlucky in that game, they got worked. It just shows that the Big East has pretty good teams, but teams that could lose to any bad team at any given moment.
Shawn
Explain Iowa vs. Syracuse?
Zebrahead

Purdue hung in there against Hawaii, but it wasn't enough.

Looks like Brennan will end up topping Klingler's all-time TD mark next week against Oregon State.

Have you watched them this year? Indiana sucks, Purdue for the most this year has been mediocore, and Iowa wasn't even close to meeting their expectations. I doubt the Big East would sweep ALL of those games (Iowa would beat UConn) but Cincy and USF defeating Indiana and Purdue isn't completely impossible.

You're right. OSU, Michigan, and Wisconsin could probably defeat the teams you mentioned, but that doesn't automatically make them and the entire conference better.

QUOTE

So, every NCAA Football conference sucks because they didn't produce an undefeated team? You sound just like the ESPN anylysts who crow about the Big Ten, "It's such a tough conference and dominates over every other." From watching a TON of Big Ten games this year I can tell you right now that they're completely overrated and aren't better than the Big East if you match it up team for team.
Mr. Mojo Risin'
It's a 7-8 hour drive that can only be made worse by the weather, but by god I'm going to do my best to get a road trip to Boise to watch us(Nevada) beat Miami because I hate them so much.
Zebrahead

Wake Forest is in the Orange Bowl. Crazy.

And Brent Musburger is the worst announcer ever.
Shawn
Well they'll get raped by whom ever they play. if Rutgers wins tonight they're in a BCS game, if they lose Louisville is.
Zebrahead

UCLA beats USC. Unbelievable.

Looks like it'll be Florida if they win, which they are, or maybe even Michigan again.
Grimes
Fucking USC. I've said from the start they're overrated as hell, but they were starting to look good until today. Would've loved to played them in Glendale. Florida just isn't a very good team, but I'd really not enjoy seeing Michigan again. Guess we'll see what happens tomorrow afternoon.
The President
nooooooooooooooooooooo Teel why
Zebrahead

Troy Smith, Brady Quinn and Darien McFadden are going to the Heisman ceremony.

Kinda pointless. Just give it to Smith already.
The Clown
Troy Smith gets the Heisman, as expected, but I didn't expect to see Darien McFadden get #2 over Quinn.
Zebrahead

I was surprised too. McFadden didn't have THAT great of a season, and as much as I think Quinn is a prick, it's not his fault Notre Dame got smashed by the only quality teams it played. It's their sorry defense and not having a decent running game.
kyle

How did Florida let Zook go? That is one hell of a recruiting class for a 2 win team, just imagine when we start winning. (Which won't take long since the Big Ten's not that great).
kyle
http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=169&p=9&c=4&yr=2007

You can add D'Angelo McCray to that list since he commited earlier today. Now we need Wilson, Brent, and Austin to commit and our defensive line will be insane.
kyle
