Ender Wiggin

Anyone seen this great anime? I read a review about it in Play magazine (great gaming magazine by the way, has an anime section too) and rushed to download and watch all 23 episodes. Not only does it feature a kickass female lead, but it was actually originally broadcast in high-definition so the animation is superb. The story is sort of 1984-ish, but more sci-fi with robots and computers, about a utopian city within a post-apocalyptic world and the way that the overall story and mystery is unraveled will keep you watching until the end. It's a bit confusing, and there is a lot of (legit) philosophy and many twists, but the ending isn't a total mindfuck like Evangelion.
I give it a 9/10 and highly recommend you check it out. There are plenty of active torrents on torrentspy, that's where I got mine.

I heard it got that it got licenced recently. I've watched the first two episodes, I found it kind of dark for my likings.

Yeah it's definitely really dark the entire way through, that's what I really liked, was the atmosphere it created. I guess that's not for everyone though. I think the DVDs start coming out later this month, I'm considering buying them if the prices aren't ridiculous.

So I have been watching ergo proxy now . . . and
those episodes with the weird stuff [ie game show]/smile land are weird . . .

Haha yeah smile land was really strange, but the game show one is important in explaining the past. I think it's the only episode that really does, plus it sets up an important character.

The game show one just didn't seem to fit in . . .
Who'd you get your subs from, I got the Shinsen-Subs H264 ones, very nice. Than i got the pino-no-usagi and I wasn't as pleased with them.

I'm honestly not sure, I renamed the files right after I downloaded them which deleted the old name that had the subber in it. I got a pretty mixed batch though, downloading from various people in DC++ hubs.
Have you finished the series yet though? The info in the game show one and Proxy One are important. Plus it's pretty standard in 26ish episode anime series to have a random-ass episode like that. Cowboy Bebop definitely had a couple.

Sounds nice, I need something like this to get me back into anime.
When will it be dubbed? I have an HDTV and soon will have an upscaling DVD player, so it would be nice to see this in it's original high def glory on a bigger screen.

I saw the first DVD at Best Buy on Black Friday, so it's been started.

SPOILERS:
It was the original humans coming back to earth. The ones that left on the spaceships discussed in the gameshow episode.Oh and here's a website that will pretty much answer any questions you might have:
http://anikimeiski.blogspot.com/2006/08/wi...proxy-ep23.htmlIt's an amazing analysis of the ending, one possible interpretation anyway. Read the rest of his blog too, it's helpful for other episodes.

I watched the first 3 episodes and it moves way too slow for me. Not enough stuff happens fast enough...

There's almost always an Ergo Proxy article in almost every US anime magazine in print monthly. There's a lot of buzz over it, but I never hear people talking much about it in the anime community. Sounds like it's worth checking out, though.
