How is Coke watered down at restaraunts? Because of all the ice they put in it usually? Otherwise...I don't think Coke is any different from a fountain or a store shelf...

They control the mixture. There is normally a lot more water in postmix coke compared to something out of a bottle.

I don't mind Coke, I prefer Pepsi.
However, ANYTHING that is diet, or that contains any artificial sweetener, is absolutely disgusting. Aspartame is 3x as sweet as sugar, and has a horrible flavour. Splenda/Sucralose is like torture to me... I can't taste for an hour after eating/drinking anything with Splenda...

Agreed wholeheartedly. One of the nastiest drinks I've ever had was one of the flavored bottled water they have in the machines on campus. The stuff is just loaded with splenda for some reason, and I don't know how anyone can stomach it.

Coke is too syrupy for me, which is why I prefer Diet Coke or Dr Pepper. I generally don't drink soda much anymore. If I do, it's motherfuckin' root beer, g.

I think i'm allergic to Splenda too. Everyone in my family makes fun of me for only having real sugar, but Splenda makes it really hard to for me to breathe and impossible for me to swallow.

If you are going to flavour water, either just out the flavourings in it without sweetener, or add just a LITTLE sugar.

My Aunt baked Banana Bread with Splenda once. She has, up to that point, loved Splenda drinks and stuff. She took one bite of her Banana bread and now she can never touch Splenda again the taste was so bad..

My parents like to keep bottles of soda right next to the fridge, not in it, so a lot of the time, I have to drink it at room temp (or ice it, but I don't like icing it too much), but most soda tastes fine at room temp. Not Dr. P, baby.

I usually buy it straight from the store, but like last year my mom didn't put a 6 pack in the fridge. So yeah I think I know what you mean. I didn't think it was awful, but cold is definitely better.

I hate splenda with a passion, my parents buy this carb smart ice cream flavored with splenda and I can literally taste the sugar crystals in it. Disgusts me...

Oh and if any of you have a Giant supermarket near you, get the Dark Cherry soda they have (their generic brand one). It's AMAZING.

You can adjust the syrup/water ratio that comes out in the fountain. It's just a big bag of syrup in a box with a hose in it. I made the Mountain Dew more watery at work so I can conserve it and drink more myself.

And I agree about soda sucking once you don't drink it. It's like an addiction, you have a little and you want more, but once you give it up it ain't really all it's cracked up to be. I used to drink soda after soda when I worked at Pizza Hut, but it gave me cavities so I quit drinking it. I work at a different restaurant now, and they have Dr. Pepper (which used to be my favorite soda). I can barely even stomach it anymore, it's all too syrupy sweet. Tastes like slow death.

I'm a slight phenylketoneuric (allergic to aspartame). I get piercing migraines if I have even a couple sips of Diet Coke. Plus it tastes like shit. Yay regular soda.

I actually wish I had that, my parents drink Diet Coke like it's crack and it's all that's ever in the house. My dad buys like 4 2 liter bottles of it and only 1 Ginger Ale/Orange/ etc. so when others run out and the OJ/Milk/Apple Juice are gone, there is just Diet Coke and Skim milk, both of which are the bane of my existence.
