I've read the first 4 mangas but never watched the anime. I heard they have a Death Note movie now or something. Anyway, soon I'll be able to read up to volume 8 =]

My girlfriend wanted me to watch this but I really don't want to. I'm not huge on anime, but she loves it.

The art is absolutely brilliant. That's my favorite part.

i have the first two volumes of the manga, which are good. The live-action movie i finished watching today, over all it was good but there were a lot of differences between the manga/anime and the movie. Theres supposed to be another movie being made about it

Downloading the first movie as we speak (the second movie is coming out soon and they're doing a spin-off with L) and I just finished reading the manga.

Don't wanna spoil but after reading the last volume of the manga the fake ending is what I'm counting as the official ending

also: im on episode 9 or so on the Anime, i cant find subs for epieodes after 10, theres supposed to be 30 some episodes

The movies come after the episodes or have nothing to do with them like OP/Naruto/almost all anime movies?

The live actions movies seem to have their own story.

well i havent seen the second one yet, but the first one was based off of the anime/manga, they changed a few things though, most likely sinceits a movie and to speed things up. Most of the stuff was the same with exception for a few minor changes in how the story plays out

Just finished the manga. I gotta say though, it has one hell of an ending.

Pffft, the official ending was weaksauce.

I liked all of it except for how Light acted in the last few chapters.

Well I decided to get back in to this series. I had been reading the manga as the chapters came out but I stopped for some reason. DLed all the manga - should start reading it within the next few days...

I'll check out the anime once it finishes airing. Though I must say, the second OP and second ED are fucking awesome.

How Light reacted when Near irrefutably proved that he was Kira struck me as magnificent. He had been ahead of the game of everyone for years; confidence coming out of the ears for just as long. After so long, he had finally been beaten. It of course put him in to a panic, but he was quick to bounce back. It was over, no use hiding or making excuses - he admitted it all. And he gave up all his reasoning to those around him. He truely believed in what he was doing; and had no regrets. What struck me as especially showing this fact was when no one agreed with him - he specifically said no one was listening to reason. He was so sure of his cause and his justice that he couldn't accept being wrong anymore. The other part of the ending that struck a cord in me was when Light was faced with his own mortality. He's been seeing himself as a God for nearly a decade - God's don't have to worry about mortality. But when he was faced with it, he couldn't accept it. He couldn't accept being faced with the very thing he'd been dishing out for years on hundreds, thousands of people. I thought that was a fitting end for him(even though I honestly like the guy, myself). How Ryuk so casually ended everything added to the dramatics of it all and just made it one of my favorite endings from anything, ever.

See, my issue with the manga's ending is that I didn't like Light's characterization at the end. He just sort of seemed to lose it in a way I didn't expect of him.

I thought it fit. He spent years being on top and he lost everything in one fell swoop. I doubt anyone could hold back mania after something like that. Plus, he was so sure the final confrontation with Near would the end of it all - all obstacles would be clear, and he was golden. He bet everything on one last conflict and he lost, horribly. Another reason I thought everything he did fit.

Fuck the ending to 36, thats not fair

So...is there a good torrent site with all of the episodes?

Kuro-hana had them all but was just recently shut down from Death Note :/
